This AMV was done for my computers foundation course - but also for my own personal whims. This is mainly dedicated to war victims. Sometimes, the ones that suffer the most from war are those who the war was fought for. If you haven't watched "Hotaru no Haka" (Grave of the Fireflies), I highly recommend it.
Grave of the Fireflies: "Troubled Memories."

Lynda Barry Lecture

"Lecture." That word sounds real boring. You get it from your parents. You get it from your teachers. You even get it from your dog when you forget to feed him dinner.
But that totally does not describe our meeting with Lynda Barry last Tuesday during 2D Lecture. I believe she was the most engaging (and hilarious) speaker we've had all year. Honestly, I tend to doze off half-way through our normal lectures, especially if I'm not running full steam on coffee. But this time, I was wide awake and hanging onto her every word. It helps when the lights kept giving me mini-seizures early on in the beginning. I bet whoever was light monitor that day was ready to jump her.
Anyway, I like how she had stories to back up everything she talked about. Her perspective on "images," or attachments to certain everyday things, is a theory I've never encountered before. That in itself was very interesting and thought-provoking.
It also didn't hurt that she had some pretty sick jokes. :)
I'd love to hear her talk to us again, but that probably won't happen any time soon, if ever. I just know that that day is a day I won't forget easily. Kudos to Lynda Barry.

Ps. "What It Is" was totally worth waiting in line for. Read it!
