For my TED.com review, I chose the video: David Blaine: How I held my breath for 17 min. Let's just say the guy is insane and I don't understand how he's able to subject himself to such crazy lengths, all to discover how to hold his breath for 17 minutes. But I suppose what I can understand is his will to do something he loves. While I'm not that into magic, I am into art and writing. I guess he puts his mind and energies into his stunts just as much as I put myself into my work. It's not like I do anything life threatening the way he does, but on some level... I kinda get him. And it makes me realize how different people are. Hearing his story makes me realize how interesting this world can be.
Although the part where he had a tube stuffed down his throat was enough to make me gag and look away for a good part of the video. Ugh, I never want to see that again.
Overall, it was something cool that I stumbled on, and I thought it was worth blogging about for my TED review.
